Nellie’s brother Charles William KEEGAN was born in 1881 and died the same year.

Nellie had another sister Agnes Gertrude KEEGAN who was born in 1882 when Nellie was nine years old. Her brother Arthur James Daniel Walter (Bruser) KEEGAN was born in 1884 when Nellie was 12. Her sister Jessie was born in 1885 when Nellie was 13.
Death of Sisters
Nellie’s sister Sarah Annie KEEGAN died in 1888 aged 13. Nellie was 16 at this time. A few years later in 1893 Ellen’s sister Jessie KEEGAN died aged 6. Nellie was 21. when Nellie was 24 her eldest sister Alice KEEGAN died in 1897.

A few months after the death of Alice, Ellen’s father Patrick Martin KEEGAN died in May 1897 at the age of 75. Ellen was 24.
Move to Hawkes Bay
At some point Ellen moved with two of her sisters Helena and Agnes to the Hawkes Bay area in the North Island of New Zealand where she took up dress making.
