In 2001 Nell was 104 years old resided at St Andrews Village, in Auckland.  She had lived near the beach in a house surrounded by trees in Paekakariki.  she was born with some sort of Osteo complaint and was seen as being favoured by her parents for this.  Captain SANDERSON was a friend of Nell’s father and was quite a bit older than Nell.  when he died he left her in a good financial position.  The pair eloped.
